Every year, hundreds of millions of animals die in small, cement cages because they were forced to consume some form of toxin. Testing on animals is COMPLETELY unnecessary and needs to be stopped. We already have knowledge about which ingredients are safe and which aren’t. We don’t need to be killing so many animals every year.
Doing tests on animals is cruel, especially tests that aren’t needed. Many companies do tests on animals that they already have results for or that they know will not matter anyway. For example, the results of animal tests are often unreliable or not applicable to humans because we have different genetics. In fact, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) explained, “Animal testing has never been a necessary, safe, or effective way to conduct medical research.” Someone may want to argue that we still need to make sure it’s safe, but the plain, true fact is that we can’t tell from testing on animals if it will be safe for humans.
Many animals being tested on don’t even receive proper medical care or exercise time during their lives. The pet food company Iams tests on animals daily, and they don’t provide anywhere near enough medical care. PETA claims that “Iams tests are particularly outrageous because animals in these tests are confined to barren steel-and-cement cells and forced to undergo invasive surgery just to test dog and cat food.” Would you like to live your whole life confined in a cement cage with only a total of two and a half hours of exercise a week? I didn’t think so. However, someone may counter that they might not have enough yard space for play or money for vets, but that’s just bologna. Most companies are funded mainly for that.
Testing on animals is completely unnecessary, especially since it won’t yield accurate results. We have cloned human skin, and yet we still burn pigs, and we have cell-based tissue models (eye tissue), but we still blind rabbits. People may argue that it’s too expensive, and they may be right, but in my opinion, it’s worth it if we pay more money and stop bashing in primate skulls, blinding rabbits, killing kittens, burning pigs, and much more!
We need to stop testing on animals. It’s just that simple. One thing you can do if you don’t want to support testing on animals is go to www.caringconsumer.com and find out which companies do and don’t test on animals. Do not purchase products produced by companies that test on animals. We can make a difference even if it’s one person at a time.

You have too many grammatical mistakes.

Not sure if your going to get a good response here, but for detail analyses ask these:

Contact is good-you have some strong supporting details. The first few paragraphs are good but towards the last 2-3, you have some grammatical errors you need to fix. Read it out loud and you will see where you need to insert some commas and separate some run-ons.

if you cleaned up the grammar, it wouldn’t be that bad of an essay.
just a suggestion..oh, and maybe if you used another source besides PETA, it could strengthen your case.
hope that helps.

great topic. I think the essay will come together more smoothly if you state all the stats in one or two paragraphs.your opinions and feelings at the end.you were back and forth.

I can tell you that it’s not wise to write an essay on a topic like this unless you’re prepared with solid facts to back up what you have to say.
First, PeTA is not a scientific organization in any way, and therefore does not have the credibility or the werewithal to comment on the necessity of animals in research.
Second, no matter what level of school you’re currently in, someone in that room has been positively affected by animal research. We’re not talking about furs or body spray here, but cures for disease. Penicillin. AZT. Nearly any drug you can name was tested on animals before it was approved for human use. Unless you’re totally prepared to swear off all medication for all illnesses/conditions, you’re not supporting what you’re saying.
Finally, I think it would be a more productive use of your time to do a little research into a social problem on a more global front that people may not be aware of. There are situations in places like Sudan, Somalia, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, and numerous other countries that most Americans are not aware of. Imagine having the government hunt you down and kill you because they don’t care for the contents of your essay.
I do understand that many people take your side of this issue seriously, but it seems as if it would be hard to given other happenings in the world.
