if you believe that the story of adam and eve is true, since all that biblical stuff supposedly took place in the areas what is now known as africa and europe and asia, then it’s quite possible that he was black.
A) Modern genetics shows that at some point about 200,000 years ago a female hominid somehow acquired a certain mitochondrial DNA that was not present in any other species. For simplicity’s sake we may call her Eve, the first truly human being. And yes, she most likely resided somewhere along the east coast of Africa in what is called today the Great Rift Valley. Her son we may call Adam as he would have inherited her mitochondrial DNA though he could not pass it on. Only females can pass it on, but they do pass it to both sons and daughters. As for the amount of melanin in their skin, no one knows. There’s no skin samples from the fossil record….as yet. Other characteristics indicative of sub-Saharan origin, the wider lips, the spread nostrils, the thin arms and legs, no fossil remains have divulged these either. So were they actually what we think of today as “blacks”? Who knows?
B) “Adam and Eve” as told of in Genesis are mythological. “Adam and Eve” as they relate to the ancestry of ALL human beings today are quite real! We just don’t have their names and addresses.
The Garden of Eden was in Mesopatomia., which today is what we call the Middle East. To go into even greater detail, most likely the Garden was in…Iraq. Are people in the Middle East black? No, not a whole lot of them. Do they kinda look like hispanics? Yes, a little bit in my opinion. So no Adam and Eve were not black.
Actually you are quiet wrong. You see when God first made humans there weren’t distinct races. Adam was black or white or any other race. He was what is know as “seed type”, which means he and Eve had all the DNA of all the different races and all the other genetic traits humans have.
P.S.
The flood destroyed all the evidence of seed types.
I believe Adam prob was black as a base color only way you could get some of other skin colors we see in the world. The Bible on these issues must be taken as true if you discount any you must discount all! The Bible has not been proven wrong yet! What difference what color he was anyway!
I don’t think the color of Adam’s skin matters. I have no idea if you are correct, but if you look at where the Garden of Eden is said to have been, well, those people living there have dark skin, so it’s quite likely Adam had dark skin as well.
Why does Adam’s skin color have to mean it’s mythology? I don’t recall reading the Bible and seeing a skin color attributed to Adam — I believe the account of Adam and Eve can be true regardless of the skin color of Adam
When I read the Book of Mormon, it told me that God blackened sinning Jews who migrated to the U.S. That is the mytho, for certain.
Many feel creation is a metaphor, but Jesus taught the “in the beginning” as fact.
You might be interested in reading what Satan thinks about evolution, as told by Roger Morneau, who escaped alive from a Satan worship cult. See and word search for Darwin.
You will see that advocates of evolution are the Devil’s most effective ministers, as it does away with Adam’s sin, which necessitates a “last Adam”, as a redeemer.
I disagree with your conclusion.

Seeing as people that believe in adam and eve don’t believe in modern genetics, I don’t think this has any bearing on their religious beliefs.

Maybe you’re right, the bible never said “Adam is white” or anything along the lines of that.

There was no “first human”.
If human is what we are now… then what was around 100 years ago wasn’t human.
The species is changing gradually over time…
But yes… common ancestors of all humans on the planet did come from South Africa…

I tend to agree with you, though I don’t believe A&E are mythology but rather allegorical.

I believe Genesis is a symbolic mythology, no matter what ethnic group the first members of genus Homo were from.

I agree, but didn’t evolution tie in with the oldest bones in Africa?

Technically, I believe Adam and Eve might have been hairy (Australopithecans). I think they came before the first Homo Sapien Sapien.

I would first try to prove “Adam” exists before trying to debate his race.
